Our project "Green Dome" deals with the research and development of a sustainable material for use in radomes, in order to replace existing synthetic weather protection materials and substances for primarily RF communications antenna applications in the marine industry. Beyond special radio frequency transmission requirements, such material should be resistant to sea water ingress, rough weather conditions and wide ambient temperature ranges. The aim of the project is to find a substitute material, that is ideally based on renewable primary products and also being biodegradable.
